The
Town Manager believes that Christmas is an ideal time
to relax and enjoy the seasonal illuminations and
colourful street entertainment in Exmouth. "The
Late Night Opening in Exmouth is about encouraging
people to do their festive shopping at leisure and
have some fun whilst visiting their favourite stores."
Shoppers have a warm and friendly welcome when they
visit the town's shops, all of which were encouraged
to promote the seasonal spirit and it is hoped staff
will be in fancy dress.

Street entertainment were to be found in various locations
around the town, including Rolle St, High St and Exeter
Rd. Santa and his sleigh were in the Strand Gardens
from 4.00pm onwards and at 5.30 the pupils of Exeter
Road Primary School were singing carols at the front
of the school. Between 25 and 30 members of Christians
Together in Exmouth were singing carols in the Magnolia
Centre, by the Rotary Christmas Tree from 6.30pm.
Other
entertainment Santa and his sleigh can be seen in
the Strand Gardens from 5pm.
Exmouth
has a diverse range of shops including high street
names as well as specialist and independent stores
where an excellent service is offered.
Avoid queues and congestion by doing your shopping
locally in Exmouth and don't forget to have some fun!
The
Late Night Shopping Event was organised and promoted
by the Exmouth Town Management Partnership with the
help of Exmouth Chamber of Trade & Commerce.
A
Ring and ride service was available for passengers
who are normally eligible. For further information
on it, contact Wendy Passmore on Exmouth 266662.
