Plantation Walk
Also known as Madeira Walk. Starting after the roundabout towards the Seafront.

From near the Manor Gardens, direction of the Maer and cliffs after this walk.

The walk is towards Orcombe Point and is level and has wonderful views towards Dawlish and Torbay, there are plenty of seats and cafes and on the Seafront. The promenade is two miles long but this walk can be shorter. 

Here by the old Water mill wheel (out of view here on the right of the photo). Manor Gardens off to the right (off photo).

Flat access to Seafront from the road at the right of photo. Cross over to it further down the road (from the after camera position)

Just a few yards on the path divides, stray on the lower path (or you can go up the steep slope -far left- to go on top of the Beacon and join the path at the road further on).

The sea-view behind the Elizabeth Hall, (not in photo) Events and car boot sales here). Toilets middle of the photo. Continue on Path (left) or go down to Seafront One small slope here, Flat access to Seafront from the road at the very start of the walk.

The Deer Leap Public House is off the photo on the left.

After the road crossing: Toilets (left in photo) and the R.N.L.I. Inshore Lifeboat Station. The walk is behind these. Where the path Arrow is. Continue on the path past the Children's play area and The Bowls Club. Exmouth's R.N.L.I.

The sheltered Walk behind The Cricket ground. (less windy in winter).

After the corner is the Exmouth Lawn Tennis Club. After this photo there is a small gentle slope down towards the BBQ area.

The BBQ area. The path opens out just round the corner. No more tree cover until the Steep path up the cliff after the small roundabout. Or continue around the Maer and back on the Seafront on the footpath on the Seafront Either side of the road.

The Prince of Wales attended a reception and presentation to celebrate the Unesco World Heritage Site award and unveiled a commemorative monument at Orcombe Point, Exmouth Exmouth is at the start of the Unesco World Heritage Site to Dorset.
The East Devon Coast from Exmouth to Dorset has been officially ranked alongside the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon as one of the natural wonders of the world. The coast provides a walk through time of 185 million years of the earth's history and stretches from Orcombe Point at Exmouth in Devon to Dorset.
