Exmouth Lifeboat, "Forward Birmingham Class number 1412" of "Forward Birmingham" Operational number ON1210.
1803 is the year that a lifeboat was first recorded at Exmouth. Trent class. The boat is off Shelly Beach by the Harbour.

Trent Class Lifeboat Constructed of fibre reinforced composite (FRC) Crew 6 Moored afloat, Length 14m (45ft 11in) Speed 25 knots, Range 250 n. miles. Type introduced 1994.

D Class Lifeboat (funded by the clubs of the River Exe) The inshore Lifeboat Station on the Seafront, opposite the Harbour View Cafe, which includes a museum and souvenir shop. The boat is made of nylon coated with neoprene / hypalon. Crew 2 / 3 Launched from a trailer. Length 4.9m (16ft) Speed 20 knots, Endurance - 3 hours at maximum speed. Introduced to Exmouth in 1997.

Sept. 1996. Dedication & naming of the new self-righting £1.3 million Lifeboat "Forward Birmingham" by the President of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution HRH the Duke of Kent.

The inshore Station is open throughout the day to look at and to help the RNLI with the buying of gifts ect.

The inshore Station is open throughout the day to look at the inshore boat and many old photos and reports. Also to help the RNLI with the buying of gifts ect. Arrangements can be made for parties during the evenings throughout the year. Visit the Royal National Lifeboat Institute centre, where you can learn about the history and work of this vital organisation, which provides a life-saving service around the whole coast. You can support the work the lifeboats do by buying some very special souvenirs from their gift shop
